Entomology
Entomology is the study of insects and encompasses the biological, agricultural, and environmental sciences related to insects and their interaction with crops.
The main purpose of the department is to:
- Develop and evaluate cost effective, sustainable, and environmentally sound management practices for the control or management of economically important insect pests of sugarcane.
- Generate knowledge on the biology and ecology of present and potential pests.
- Project and mitigate the yield losses caused by these insect pests.
