ZSA Signs MoU with Brazilian Ethanol Cluster
The Zimbabwe Sugar Association (ZSA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Brazilian based Ethanol Cluster, Arreglo Productivo Local De Alcohol (APLA). The MoU was signed during a four-day study tour of the Brazilian sugar industry by 15 Zimbabwe Sugar Industry representatives from various facets of the industry. The tour was facilitated by National Competitiveness Commission (NCC) and the team was led by Dr Audrey Mabveni, Director of ZSAES. The tour was meant to build a network with sugarcane farmers, research institutes, marketing board and suppliers of milling plants, create sustainable partnerships and share insights on how Zimbabwe can enhance its competitiveness in the sugar value chain. The MoU is premised on sharing expertise to increase sugar production in Zimbabwe and we are expecting APLA to visit the Zimbabwean Sugar Industry in order to identify our challenges as the sugar industry and see how they can assist.
